We’re excited to share Stok’s first-ever impact report! Our purpose has always pushed us to walk the talk, and publishing this report is a proud step in that direction. As consultants who guide organizations through materiality assessments and impact reporting, publishing our own report deepens our commitment to transparency, accountability, and kaizen (continuous improvement), and we’re proud to join alongside many impact-driven organizations in sharing our progress and where we aim to grow next.
This post offers a quick look at our Stok Impact journey, with key insights for anyone building or evolving their own impact reporting strategy.
HOW PUBLISHING AN IMPACT REPORT BUILDS TRANSPARENCY AND TRUST
Transparency has long been foundational to how we partner with clients. Launching Stok Impact extends that commitment by making our progress, challenges, and lessons learned visible to our clients, partners, and broader community.
We believe that holding ourselves to the same standards we encourage for our clients strengthens trust, inspires action, and amplifies our collective progress toward a sustainable future. Our 2024-2025 Report shares the initiatives we’ve launched and the outcomes we’re tracking, reinforcing that impact reporting is not a one-time snapshot but a living practice.
We’ll update the Stok Impact page annually, using new insights and stakeholder feedback to guide our next steps. Just as we help clients embed sustainability and social equity into their organizations, this is how we embed it into ours: through openness, accountability, and a shared commitment to measurable progress.
WHY STOK BEGAN WITH A MATERIALITY ASSESSMENT TO SHAPE OUR IMPACT STRATEGY
Before building our 2024-2025 Report, we began where we recommend every rigorous ESG strategy should: with a materiality assessment. In 2025, Stok conducted a comprehensive analysis to identify and prioritize the issues that matter most to our stakeholders and to Stok’s long-term success.

Drawing on the best practices we use with clients, we assessed a list of 34 ESG topics using industry frameworks, subject matter experts across our team, and insights from both internal and external stakeholders. Across all groups, several themes rose to the top:
Those topics not only represent who we are as a professional services firm but also reflect what our partners value most. These findings directly shaped the structure and focus of Stok Impact, guiding our reporting to align with the priorities of those we serve.
HOW A MATERIALITY ASSESSMENT TURNS ESG REPORTING INTO A STRATEGIC ROADMAP
Our experience reaffirmed what we see with our clients: a clear materiality assessment transforms ESG strategy from a reporting exercise into a strategic roadmap. By grounding our disclosure in data and stakeholder feedback, we can focus our efforts where they matter most and communicate our impact with confidence and clarity.
As consultants, we know that procurement teams are most engaged in our impact, making them ideal external stakeholders to involve in our materiality assessment. When conducting outreach, prioritize the groups with the greatest connection to your organization’s impact to get the clearest insight.
This is the same process we guide our clients through, using ESG as a lens for both reflection and growth. The result is more than a report; it’s a story of alignment, shared accountability, and the pursuit of continuous improvement.
HOW STOK’S 2024-2025 IMPACT REPORT PUTS OUR PURPOSE INTO PRACTICE
As a purpose-driven company, everything we do ties back to our purpose: to boldly catalyze an environmentally restorative and socially equitable world. It sets an ambitious bar, and Stok Impact reflects where we’ve grown, learned, and have space to improve in pursuit of a radically better world.
While we’ve long helped clients measure and reduce their environmental impact, we haven’t always applied the same rigor internally. In our 2024-2025 Report, we mark a turning point: Stok formally committed to science-based emissions reduction through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in 2025, creating clear targets and next steps for our emissions reduction.
Our purpose also calls on us to prioritize social equity. While we continue to make progress internally, we recognized that we needed to formalize more avenues for strengthening social equity through our client work. That’s why we’re incredibly proud to have launched our Pro Bono Program in 2024, making our services more accessible to marginalized communities advancing decarbonization and healthier built environments. Our 2024-2025 Report shares early outcomes, fueling our ambition to scale the program.
Partnering for Purpose
Each Stok team member receives 16 volunteer hours annually, with an option to gift them to Stok’s Pro Bono Program if not used. In 2024, our team provided 474 hours to serve local non-profits. We also proudly completed two pro bono projects that reflect our commitment to community impact and sustainability.

And because as consultants our greatest path to achieving impact is through our clients, the report also highlights how we measure the quality of our professional services, act on feedback, and evolve our offerings to continue to deliver exceptional value and support clients in achieving their sustainability goals.
Together, these stories show how we put our purpose into practice to drive measurable impact. Stok Impact tells these stories and so many more, from our nature-inspired governance, to our commitments and core values, to how we’re tackling data security, learning and development, IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accountability), flexible work policies, fair compensation, volunteering and donations, and greenhouse gas emissions data.

This inaugural 2024-2025 Report lays the foundation for our future Stok Impact reporting and reflects our commitment to accountability, transparency, partnership, and measurable impact. While the ESG reporting space is often dominated by large enterprises, as a mid-sized firm we still found deep value in this process, and we’re excited to keep progressing along a journey that we’ve helped so many clients navigate.
