Liza Schillo
As a Carbon Services Senior Project Manager, Liza designs and implements supplier programs that turn climate targets into action. She guides clients through the full decarbonization process, from setting priorities to supplier engagement and follow-through. With nearly 15 years in corporate sustainability strategy, Liza has been on both sides of the table: as the buyer of a global brand, and as both a large-scale and start-up stage supplier. She knows firsthand what it takes to align sourcing, procurement, finance, and other critical functions behind a shared decarbonization plan. Her approach builds climate considerations into how the business operates, so that decarbonization becomes a lasting part of supplier relationships.
ON REIMAGINING THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT:
“I grew up in, and recently returned to, the mountains of western North Carolina, where I learned how to raise tadpoles and identify birds by their call. Those early lessons taught me how closely our own well-being as humans is tied to the health of the places in which we live. That connection drives my work today; I believe that business and the natural world can thrive together, and I’m passionate about helping companies find and navigate a path in which long-term business value and climate resilience reinforce each other.”
ON A FUTURE THEY WANT TO LIVE IN:
“I want my niece to inherit wild places that are full of the animals in the picture books I give her. I want to live in a world where the products we depend on are made in ways that restore, rather than deplete, and where a stable climate is treated as foundational, rather than optional. I believe we have the solutions we need for a circular, regenerative global economy—the work is in implementation.”
