The Challenge

Serve as the on-the-ground partner to an international client by building an elite local team and closely overseeing the project to achieve three core goals:

  • Integrate multiple design layers, including historic features, feng shui, elements from the company's sister office in Hong Kong, and modern technology
  • Achieve LEED and WELL Platinum certifications
  • Implement state-of-the-art security features

Managing the integration of the differing design components and finding sustainable alternatives required the full integration of Stok’s Real Estate & Workplace Solutions and Sustainability Consulting capabilities. The results are stunning: living walls, an edible rooftop farm program, healthy materials, and sophisticated acoustics create an unparalleled work experience.

The Solution

BUILDING THE TEAM

This project was defined by its demand on an exhaustive list of specialty designers and vendors. Stok took the lead in building the team by identifying the best partners for the project and managing the complex coordination to effectively integrate all systems.

STATE-OF-THE-ART SECURITY

The security needs of the client required Stok to onboard specialty designers and contractors. The security design and build-out provides top tier security, including facial recognition systems at all entrances, conference rooms that double as safe rooms in the event of intruders, and camera systems that incorporate AI to track activity and notify the security team when specific parameters are triggered.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL

The project implemented a number of features, including feng shui design elements like copper finish elements, reception desk radius, and custom hand carved lion statues from Hong Kong, advanced security systems, Transbay salvaged wood finishes, a rooftop farm program, an extensive living wall and planter layout, a living tree in open office, and safe rooms for intruder events. The project also featured accordion glass door wall system for the boardroom with maintained high acoustic requirements, and acoustic design and testing to ensure a tuned work environment.
